Uplifting Athletes, a student organization of athletes at Ohio State, is hosting a video game tournament for charity on Wednesday, July 30, at Eddie George’s Grille 27. The tournament will take place from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and will include around 20 Ohio State football players. Entry to the event will be $65 and there will be an opportunity for attendees to meet the players, get autographs, and win prizes. All proceeds from the event will go to the Kidney Cancer Association, a disease that Uplifting Athletes is trying to bring awareness about.

Uplifting Athletes (also at Penn State, Maryland, and Colgate) was started this year, at Ohio State, by recently graduated football player, Matt Daniels. Daniels’ father currently is battling kidney cancer, so this event certainly has a major impact on him and his teammates. Attending the event would be a great way to show your support for the Buckeyes, in a gesture that has nothing to do with painting your face or cheering from the stands on game day. Tickets to the event are limited so order them soon at the Uplifting Athletes website.
