With the Wisconsin game at Camp Randall Stadium coming up this Saturday, Buckeye Nation has begun to get antsy. Many people feel TP will have his national coming out party against the Badgers on prime time television this Saturday night (8 p.m. ABC), while some feel the Bucks will struggle with the big, vicious crowd that is the student section of Camp Randall Stadium. Some of the DTI Staff will be in attendance and I know I’m certainly hoping this game is already won to the Buckeyes before “Jump Around” plays before the fourth quarter.

Despite the momentum OSU has gained since reloading after the USC loss, one thing nopt going for the Buckeyes is the recent numbers and stat lines in this series. Here are some of those numbers:

  • Wisconsin is 16-0 at Camp Randall Stadium under head coach Brett Bielema
  • Jim Tressel is 2-3 against Wisconsin since becoming the OSU head coach in 2001. This includes a 1-2 record at Camp Randall Stadium.
  •  Wisconsin has won 21 of it’s last 22 night games (won last 11)
  • During the 16 game home winning streak, Wisconsin has outscored opponents 559-218

While the Buckeyes have overcome many tough night games in the past few years, this one is sure to be a little more difficult. With Wisconsin coming off an embarassing loss to Michigan in which they were up 19-0 in the third quarter, the Badgers are sure to be playing full of emotion. Looking at these numbers, it will certainly be difficult to come back to Columbus with a win, but with the revamped offense and the improving defense, Ohio State certainly is capable of victory. Expect a hard fought, physical game in which the two teams battle to see who can control the ground game, and thus the time of posession. With PJ Hill, John Clay, and Zach Brown for UW and Beanie Wells, Boom Herron, and Brandon Saine for the Bucks, this one should be a war. I expect TP to be unphased by this Wisconsin crowd and make some big plays with his arm and legs, but in the end it will be Beanie Wells who saves the day for the Scarlet and Gray, rushing for 168 yards on 24 carries, to go along with two touchdowns. After all Tressel did sacrafice him in the USC game so he can be back for this one right? Buckeyes win in Camp Randall by a score of 24-17.
