Here are some recruiting notes and rumors floating around the day before National Signing Day:
- Louisville Male (KY) Athlete Justin Green is rumored to be backing out of his OSU commitment and signing with Kentucky tomorrow. I have been nervous about Green, but when I heard this rumor I did not get nervous at all. Green visited Clemson last month and came away saying he was solid with the Bucks and knew Columbus was the right place for him. Bill Kurelic posted on the thread on the Bucknuts Forums that his brother and former Buckeye, Marcus Green, says Justin will sign with OSU tomorrow. Breath a little easier!
- No more news on Marlon Brown than before, but I have a feeling he is going to Georgia. Marcus Hall said he thinks Brown is down to UGA and OSU and could be leaning towards the Bucks, but Hall also said Brown really likes Georgia. I think Brown sees the success AJ Green had as a freshman on Mark Richt’s team last year and feels he can acheive similar success. UGA may not have a great QB situation this year, but Aaron Murray is one of the top senior QBs and is heading to Athens next year. Brown is set to announce his decision tomorrow at 3:45 p.m. on ESPNU. Let’s hope Terrelle Pryor can influence this kid and bring him to the C-bus.
- There were rumors floating around yesterday that Jaamal Berry would not be academically eligible to sign and play for the Buckeyes. The list came from Rivals and listed many prominent players in the country as not qualifying to sign tomorrow. Don’t take any stock into this as the staff knows what they are doing and until you hear this as a fact from JT and co., it’s all just talk. I will be excited to see Mr. Berry sign his LOI tomorrow and join the Buckeye Family.
- As if getting Marcus Hall wasn’t good enough news, Bucnkuts’ Matt Natali is reporting that Anderson (OH) Offensive Lineman Andrew Norwell will commit to the Bucks as soon as Wednesday. Norwell is a top talent in Ohio for the Class of 2010 and has also been offered by Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Virginia, Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Stanford, and others. Norwell would be the third member of this class, following JT Moore and Jamel Turner, who committed to JT in late 2008. Good get for the Bucks if this is true and let’s keep the train rolling.
