We have been notified that at least three Ohio State football players have possibly been suspended for violation of team rules. It has been rumored that the athletes tested positive in recent drug tests administered by
coaching staff. It is unfortunate as each player has some sort of impact on the team.
The delinquents:
Eugene Clifford - This is ‘Gene’s second offense in 6 months. The coaching staff will not take it lightly and rumor is he will be suspended for the entire season.
Donald Washington - Before the national championship game, D-Wash was rumored to be suspended, but those rumors proved false. This time, he is not as fortunate. Rumblings state that he will be suspended for the first two games (Youngstown State, Ohio).
Jamario O’Neal - Also rumored to be suspended for the first two games
These suspensions will give opportunities for young guys to step up and prove themselves early in the season. Look, especially to Chimdi Chekwa to fill in for Donald Washington and Jamario O’Neal.
Nothing official has been released by the University but our sources close to the team have confirmed these rumors.
Update: Mo Wells is not involved and there is speculation and fluctuation on the length of the suspensions of the three. Nothing is official yet and hopefully we will learn more from Coach Tressel after the jersey scrimmage tomorrow.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a Trackbackhow has no one commented on this yet?? this a bad for the program. We sit back and laugh as we see Penn St. players get suspended left and right but now it is happening to us. We dont want the image the “U” has.
College kids smoking herb! The horror!
The bigger question is why the hell is OSU testing for this? Do they test kids in the math department for weed? What about the Fisher College of Business? It’s not a performance-enhancing drug, it’s no business of athletics to test for it.
Not only are these amateur athletes being taken advantage of due to the MILLIONS of dollars they make for universities, now there privacy is also being violated.
So much for the high-and-mighty buckeye fans ripping on Michigan for Mario Manningham admitting he smoked weed (and got suspended) while at U of M.
Oh, and Johnny, any school has the right to test it’s athletes for ILLEGAL DRUGS you idiot. You make your school look bad making comments like that.
If this is true, nice scoop. Personally, I hope it is false. The program has been trending in the right direction and this would be a setback in the public relations department.
UM Fan…
1-7 versus Tressel coming this November. Now go crawl back in your cave.
Judging by how Michigan handled Manningham, the coaches just need to make sure he breaks them off some and he will miss one quarter of a game against a MAC team. Maybe an entire half if they are really in a bad mood. That’s how Lloyd would have done it!
Johnny said.
You’re an idiot.
How stupid could these starters be? There’s tons of talent waiting for them to make a mistake like this. And despite what has happened at PSU, The New York Times will make this front page news and rent billboard space against Ohio State.
[…] http://dottingthei.com/index.php/possible-suspensions/ Looks like secondary took a hit (literally) Unfortunately they also did the pass. […]
hubba bubba, nice idiotic move trying to quote me and not being able to figure it out!
now go smoke a joint and relax! uptight douches. everyone smokes pot in college. NEWSFLASH!!!
Chris Mortensen said on ESPN last week that NFL execs told him they think 90 percent of draft eligible players have smoked. IN other words, THEY DON’T CARE!!! Alcohol is much worse for you, we just have outdated, prehistoric laws in the USA.
[…] the previoulsy unheard of to us
I am not even sure that drug testing (non-performance enhancing) is required by the NCAA. Tressel and staff just incorporate it within the program. Thus, the programs morale and ideals remain high. Is it worth it to do so?
Boys wil be boys. They violate the rule, they do the time. So I’m not shocked that they were doing what most other college students are doing. And I don’t think it reflects badly on the program.
But agree with THEBUCK. IF they are so bad a decision-making personally, I’m wondering if I want them making decisions on the field.
Johnny - why you got to be so nasty?
OK, I’m just upset they didn’t pass it over here. Haha.
Seriously, some of you need to curl up with a nice blunt and relax.
How assuming you Bucknuts are. Nowhere does this state it was marijuana. Maybe, just maybe you have your goggles strapped so tight you refuse to accept the possibility that these “drugs” are more serious than pot.
I see no problem with testing athletes when the Universities are forking over tens of thousands of dollars for their scholarships, food, etc..
Hey Johnny, 57-39-6! Bring your feeble attempt of trash talk when the Buckcries catch up (minimum 18 years). Now flush twice, it’s a long way to Columbus!
Hey Greg,
What is the Michigan’s record against OSU in the last 50 meetings?
LOL at your pathetic self. The only thing keeping your piehole above water are the “wins” from 1895 to 1915.
Enjoy your argument now sizzlechest, you won’t be able to say it much longer…that is, if you consider it an argument…
dottingthei.com,
If you are lying to me, there will be hell to pay.
It would be nice to have the starters have to games under their belt before the USC game.
Again, I hope you’re sources are right for your sake, wrong for ours.
Hey bengalbux,
Try again.
Your history is limited. Let me ask you this…. How many National Titles do the Bucks have? Hell, how about Big Ten Titles? No luck there for ya? Try overall wins, Bowl Games, or winning percentage. Dig deep in your pea-sized brain. I’ll give you time to research.
But hey, you do have some of the most notorious athlete-criminals to take credit for. You must be proud!
Now go take your GHB with the rest of these losers and have a gay fiesta.
Greg the Pissant,
Congrats on Michigan’s victories over OSU in the 1800’s and up until about 1915. I’m sure you enjoyed going to games back then. For the rest of us born in the post World War I era, we have enjoyed our success over the Corn and Blue immensely. And especially this century, in which you are about to be 1-7 against Tressel, your program is downright pathetic. Get in the present times you fool! Or at least the last 75 years.
And Tressel is going to own DickRod just as much as he owned Lloyd. Believe it! (said in Jose Lima voice)
And BTW, Bucknuts.com does have a story up that confirmed it was weed. We’ll leave the hard drugs for the thugs that DickRod will bring with him to Ann Arbor (is a whore). Maybe he will even hire Chris Henry and Ms. Pacman as assistant coaches.
Mo Wells was not involved though. Just the DBs.
[…] 2008 Buckeye defense we’ve all been daydreaming about just took a bit of a hit. The rumors from earlier in the day proved to be correct and Donald Washington, Jamario O’Neal and Eugene Clifford are in a bit […]
You guys sure it was pot, I heard coke, anyone confirm for SURE?
this isn’t the same as manningham anyways. manningham was never suspended (officially for weed, he was just suspended for unknown reason) and THEN he lies about it to NFL scouts before realizing they’ll find out and mailing in his admittance.
plus, manningham was caught 2x in college and he misses one game against Easter Mich? and UM fans have the onions to come here?
context wolverine. grasp it and youd probably also understand your record in the rivalry is inflated.
johnny right on man. It’s 2008 people legalize it already. Alcohol is a far worse drug than pot. Dui’s are far more serious resulting in millions of deaths over the course of history.
Clifford should be out for the season because of 2nd offense.
They other two one or two games. Make a point you won’t put up with it but keep in mind weed stays in your urine for 30 days. Its not like they are puffing before spring practice.
Johnny, Johnny, Johnny…
I crap and piss in my johnny. How’d the 90’s treat you guys? This rivalry has had streaks. Is your mind so eroded you believe the recent streak will continue? What a neanderthal.
You call Michigan pathetic. Check your own tradition moron. O$U has copied UM. The Ohio State song “I want to go back to Ohio State” straight-up stole its first lines and melody from Michigan’s “I want to go back to Michigan.” Do you really think O$U is really smart enough to come up with the script Ohio? The first script Ohio was formed in 1932 by the Michigan Marching Band. Oh, your beloved stadium’s rotunda has maize flowers on a blue background. That must kill you!
In the meantime, you should quit typing and look up into Boeckmans eyes. That’s just being rude, not showing how much you really enjoy him.
“I Want To Go Back” was taken from University of California-Berkeley’s Marching Band and has been copied by numerous Universities around the country, but made most famous by OSU.
As far as Michigan goes: Rich Rod will run your team further into the ground. Congrats on your successful spring game yesterday; I hear you guys found yourselves a solid Quarterback Steven Threet, lol. He sounds great. Bet you wish you had Terrelle Pryor huh?

Thanks for being the CNN of the Buckeye blogosphere…too bad the truth sucks!
As a result, you have been added and recommended on jimtresselshead.blogspot.com.
Other Universities wouldn’t suspend players for more than 1 game IF THAT so I applaud JT for this….set them straight or replace them if they do it again….we’ve got plenty of depth at practically every position!
