DTI was present at Ohio State’s 2008 Media Day on Thursday and we we’re able to bring you all the action.

We were able to interview senior offensive lineman Alex Boone, senior defensive back Malcolm Jenkins, red-shirt sophomore Ross Homan, junior running back Chris Wells, freshman athlete Lamaar Thomas, and few small tid-bits from freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor.

Alex Boone

DTI: We all know that most people are looking forward to big games such as USC, Michigan, etc. but which game are you most looking forward to?
AB: Yeah, Michigan and USC are big games of course..but I am most looking forward to going to Illinois. Revenging that loss would be big for me.

DTI: Lawrence Wilson has a lot of hype coming into this year and has been said to be better than Vernon Gholston, what have you seen so far?
AB: I’ve already had to match-up with him one-on-one in a drill, he hurt me pretty badly; he’s a beast.

DTI: Which freshman offensive lineman has stood out so far in camp?
AB: We’ve really only been in camp for 3 days so it’s been hard to tell. They are all great players.

DTI: Has your golf game improved since your TV special a few months ago?
AB: (Laughter) I’ve practiced a bit, been out to the course a few times. I’m still struggling though, it hasn’t been pretty.

Malcolm Jenkins

DTI: Any freshmen defensive backs standing out so far in practice?
MJ: Travis Howard has looked real good and has stood out. He’s fast and already seems to know what to do.

DTI: What is it like have extremely high expectations going into the season (such as this one)?
MJ: I like the attention. We know we have the talent and we just have to come through.

DTI: Preparations for this year any different than the past few?
MJ: Yeah, everyone knows what they got to do, it doesn’t need to be told to us. We’re working extremely hard on fundamentals.

Ross Homan

DTI: How do you feel about Curtis Terry moving permanently to offense and you slated as a starting linebacker?
RH: I don’t take it for granted for one second. I’m working really hard to be in the best shape of my life and watch a lot of film.

DTI: How has it been learning from guys such as James (Laurinaitis) and Marcus (Freeman) for so long?
RH: They have been great influences on me. They work really hard all the time to be as good as they are and it’s pushed me a lot.

Chris Wells

DTI: Congrats on the Sports Illustrated cover, what was that like seeing yourself on that?
CW: It was really cool. The pictures were pretty good. I showed my mom and she cried, she was so happy.

DTI: Any game in particular you are looking forward to?
CW: For sure, Youngstown St. I had 16 carries for only 46 yards. I struggled. I need to show what I can do right away.

DTI: Do you like the attention being considered a Heisman front runner?
CW: I don’t really like a lot of attention but its an honor hearing about it.

DTI: We’ve heard from your teammates that you’ll do the “Heisman Pose” in the end zone against Michigan (i.e. Desmond Howard) if you get the opportunity. Is that true?
CW: (laughter) Who said that? We’ll see…

Lamaar Thomas

DTI: You were considered one of the fastest players nationally in the 2008 class. Are you the fastest on this OSU team?
LT: B-Saine is the fastest on the team right now. He recorded a 4.29 when the coaches record us in February.

DTI: What’s your fastest 40-time?
LT: In high school, I ran a 4.27 indoors.
DTI: So you’re the fastest on the team?
LT: Well, I’m yet to be recorded at OSU, so we’ll see.

Terrelle Pryor

DTI: How has it been learning from Todd Boeckman over the last few months of summer?
TP: Todd has been real good to learn with and to watch film with. He’s a great player.

DTI: How has coach Tressel been using you so far in the offense?
TP: We’ve just been doing fundamental drills. We haven’t talked about playing time at all.

DTI: How have you liked being a college student so far this summer and having everyone recognizing you?
TP: It’s been good, everyone knows you if you’re a football player. There are lots of great players here so I shouldn’t get too much attention.
