While the start of football season (players report August 3) is on the minds of many Buckeye fans, some of you may be wondering what graduated basketball players Jamar Butler, Othello Hunter, and Matt Terwilliger are up to. It took a little bit of digging, but this is what we found:
Jamar Butler- Butler was supposed to play with the Nets summer league team in Orlando the past few weeks, but left the team after signing a one year contract with Caserta of the Italian League. Butler’s deal is worth between $150,000-$200,000, and included an exit-clause if an NBA team comes calling, as well as what were described as “attainable” bonuses to raise his salary. Caserta plays in the A1 level of the Italian League, which is the highest for Club Basketball in Italy. Jamar will report to the team on August 18.
Othello Hunter- Hunter has started play for the Charlotte Bobcats summer league team in Las Vegas this past week. He has played in two games, logging 7 points on 3-5 shooting in 10 minutes on July 12, and added 6 points on 3-4 shooting and a rebound in 11 minutes on July 13. Totaling 13 points (6-9 from the field) and 1 rebound in just 21 minutes is not too shabby for the 6′9″ Hunter, but expect him to log more minutes as the summer league continues. The Bobcats will next play on July 15 at 10:30 p.m. against the Golden State Warriors summer league squad. All games are webcast on NBA.com.
Matt Terwilliger- “Twigs” as he was known around campus, will be playing for Euro League Amsterdam this upcoming season. The 6′8″ forward should fit well in the European style of play, and his $110,000 contract is pretty good money for a college role player. Amsterdam won the Dutch League Championship in 2007-2008 and Terwilliger will try to help the squad capture another one in 2008-2009.
Stay tuned throughout the season as DTI will keep you updated on the progress of these three former Buckeyes and analysis on first-round draft pick Kosta Koufos as he begins his career with the Utah Jazz in the NBA.

I like to see these former bucks are doing big things
great update. Good to see Butler find a home, baffled at Twigs and his 6 figure deal. Hopefully Hunter continues to improve. He really showed me a lot his senior season.
