In very surprising news, Houston (TX) Eisenhower QB Kenny Guiton, will make a visit to OSU this weekend with intentions of giving a verbal commitment, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Guiton is 6′2.5″ and weighs 172 pounds. He is rated as the number 53 quarterback in the country by Scout and completed 117 of 232 passes for 1,670 yards to go along with 17 touchdowns against 9 interceptions this season. He is choosing the Bucks over offers from Northwestern, Kansas, Houston, and Iowa State, among others.
The offer to Guiton came after quarterbacks Tajh Boyd and Austin Boucher decided to go to Clemson and Miami (OH) respectively. Apparently OSU TE coach/recruiting coordinator John Peterson was in Texas last week and watched video of Guiton. The staff liked what they had seen and decided to offer the dual threat QB a scholarship, filling a glaring need, as OSU’s quarterback depth is thin this year, with just Terrelle Pryor and Joe Bauserman on scholarship.
This was certainly surprising news to anyone who follows OSU recruiting and came out of left field. Either way we are glad to welcome Kenny into the Buckeye family and wish him success in his future in Columbus. Have a good day and GO BUCKS!
