Bad new for Buckeye fans, as Hampton, VA Quarterback Tahj Boyd has committed to the Clemson Tigers.
Boyd selected the Tigers over OSU and Oregon, and the co-MVP of the Army-All American Game will compete for playing time immediately. Stating he went with his gut feeling and wanted to play early, Clemson becomes the third school Boyd has committed to after dropping WVU and being dropped by Tennessee earlier in the process. I mentioned earlier in Boyd’s recruiting process that Clemson would be a late sleeper, and unfortunately my predictions were correct.
The Buckeye staff must turn their attention to Marcus Hall and Marlon Brown. Hall was said to be a Buckeye lock, but apparently had a great trip to THE U this weekend and it will be a tough decision for the Glenville big man. Brown will receive his in-home visit from Jim Tressel on Thursday before visiting Tennessee this weekend. The visit from JT will be huge and if he can land Brown, it makes up for the loss of Boyd.
We wish the best to Tahj Boyd (in the Peach and Gator Bowls), although I do not understand how someone who grew up with Troy Smith as his idol and with a chance to succeed Terrelle Pryor as the next Buckeye quarterback, would go to an underachieving program like Clemson. People may say OSU underachieves as well, but at least we make BCS games!
Sad day in Buckeye Nation, but if we can get Hall and Brown it would save the day!
